MOM'S WEEKEND 2008

Blue Cherenkov radiation can be see when the reactor is at full power


Have you ever seen an operating Nuclear Reactor? Do you want to? Mom's Weekend 2008 is your chance!

The Washington State University Nuclear Radiation Center (NRC) will be conducting FREE tours for the public during Mom's Weekend 2008.
Tours will be conducted at the NRC from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 12th.

Photo identification is REQUIRED for your tour, and please leave all cameras, backpacks and bags in your car.

No children under the age of ten will be permitted.

Tours of the NRC will require about one hour to complete and will include a tour of the reactor console, pool room and the operating reactor.

During our last open house, the NRC experienced a huge turnout of students, staff, and members of the community who were interested in learning about
one of the most unique research tools on the WSU campus, and in the State of Washington.
