What is the relationship between OIPA and WSURF?
Washington State University's Office of Intellectual Property Administration
("OIPA") is WSU's interface to the Washington State University
Research Foundation (" WSURF"), which is a non-profit
corporation. WSURF's primary goal is to transfer technology to the
marketplace.
OIPA is primarily responsible for encouraging faculty to report
intellectual property ("IP") development so that OIPA can review
the IP for commercial viability. If the review is positive,
OIPA will transfer the IP to WSURF and recommend that WSURF protect and
market it. |
