Peter Chilson's new book, Disturbance-LovingSpecies: A Novella and Stories, won the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference Bakeless Fiction Prize and is available through Mariner Books/Houghton Mifflin. The stories in this book are about Americans in Africa, struggling to cope with political and social conflict, and Africans trying to adjust to life in the United States.
Chilson is the author of Riding the Demon: On the Road in West Africa, which University of Georgia Press published in 1999. He teaches writing and literature at Washington State University. He lives in Moscow, ID and Portland, OR.
