$14,000 grant (Principal Investigator:  Prof. Jack Burns) from the Eisenhower Leadership Studies Program (U.S. Department of Education) to develop and teach a course in Communication and Leadership for the WSU Leadership Studies Minor.

 

$10,000 grant (Principal Investigator:  Prof. Jack Burns) from the Eisenhower Leadership Studies Program (U.S. Department of Education) to examine the influence of the mass media on America's "public voice."  This grant was used to finance an edited volume on this issue published by Praeger Publishers.

 

College of Liberal Arts Dean's Initiating Grant.  $500.00 for study entitled "The next best thing to being there:  A test of the joint conversation reconstruction method."

 

College of Liberal Arts Dean's Initiating Grant.  $400.00 for study entitled "Organizational climate, peer communication relationships and job satisfaction."
