This
site contains links to several searchable databases maintained
by the Marion Ownbey Herbarium. Each database contains information
from our specimens' labels, including collector, locality, date,
identification, and annotations.
Please
select a database to search:
- Bryophytes
- Database complete; approx. 10000 records; includes mosses,
liverworts, and hornworts.
- Lichens
- Database complete; approx. 2100 records.
- Type
specimens - Almost all of our more than 1300 type
specimens have been entered; proofing is in progress.
- Selected
groups from our main collection:
- Saxifragaceae
- Database nearly complete; over 5150 records entered;
some entry and proofing remains. Please note that many
workers recognize Micranthesas a monophyletic genus separate
from Saxifraga. We have adopted this circumscription,
although not all appropriate combinations have yet been
published.
- Loasaceae
- Database complete; over 750 records.
- Allium
- Specimen entry is nearly complete; proofing is in progress;
approx. 4000 records.
- Townsendia

- Synthyris
and Besseya - Database complete; over 400 records.
- Calochortus

over 1400 records.
- Plants
of Southeast Washington. Entry is in progress.
Please
note:
Some of the databases are incomplete, and not all of them have
been proofread. Please e-mail or call (509-335-3250) if you would
like more complete information, wish to double-check data, or
would like access to databases that are "in progress".
We
encourage you to let us know if you experience any problems while
using our databases. Please let us know what you like about our
