A month into the semester and the first webpage update appears! Virtual party poppers ahoy! ...Or not. New webmaster Marci at your service! Feel free to send all e-mails concerning the webpage to me. The staff page, shows page, and the banners have been updated! If you look to the right, you'll see a new link called "myspace." This, as you may have guessed, links to the club's myspace. Elections

This semester we've decided to depart a bit from tradition and hold our end-of-semester elections at the Wednesday, April 19 meeting, instead of the end-of-semester 12 hour. Be there to get your votes in.

Additionally, we're going to do a bit of schedule splicing in order to get everything shown before the end of the year, because this Saturday (April 22) is the last Saturday meeting of the semester. Victorian Romance Emma will be shown in place of Hunter x Hunter this Wednesday, and the last episode of Emma as well as the last episode of Negima will be shown in place of Hunter x Hunter next Wednesday, which will be our last meeting of the semester.

10.26.03 Showing changes, site cleanout, and Schedule and info for November All Campus 12 hour Anime Marathon
Yesterday we finished Gunparade March, so next Saturday we'll be starting a new show, Naruto. Naruto will likely never end even through next semester but it will still be a good watch. If you haven't been to our Saturday showings next Saturday would be a great day to start.
In other news I deleted much of the old news so the front page is much more compact. I left most of the semi-important info.

The November 12 hour is in Todd Auditorium (116) from noon until midnight on Saturday, November 8.

Noon-1:30 Narue no sekai 1-3
1:30-3:30 Laputa Castle in the Sky

7:30-9:00 Millenium Actress
9:00-10:00 Gunslinger Girls 1-2
10:00-12:00 Ruroni Kenshin Directors Cut OVA

We have two movies to watch this time. This year we set out that we wanted to watch one Ghibli film per 12 hour until we watch all of the ones we have. To keep pace with this years 12 hour tradition we have the Studio Ghibli film Laputa Castle in the Sky.

Our other movie is Millennium Actress.
For decades, Chiyoko Fujiwara had been the most famous actress who starred in various genres of films, until she retired 30 years ago. One day, a producer working on a documentary on Chiyoko's career and life visits her at home in her quiet mountain villa. He brings with him a small old key, which unlocks wondrous secrets within and beyond her memories.

In the late evening we are watching the Kenshin OVA directors cut. Not really much longer than the original, however, many people haven't seen it before so now is a good opportunity to watch it. If you like good plot, good animation, and good sword fights, then you will love this anime feature.

As always the raffle will follow dinner. Tickets are 1$ each, Last raffle we gave out well over 100$ worth of anime goods and only had 70 ticket purchases! Come and support us so we can bring you more quality anime!

Later all,
Steve (Anime Club Prez)

Hello everyone, this is the club president Steve.

For those of you who haven't been to one of our All Campus 12 Hour Showings in the past, let me explain what goes on. We design them to stand alone from all other showings. We show movies, short series, or the first few episodes from a new series. One exception this time is GTO 42-43. It is a series that we almost completed last semester and missed the last two episodes, so we have placed it at the beginning of the 12 hour. Attendance for 12 hour showings has varied between 50 and 120 people in the past.

On to one of the most interesting aspects of the 12 hour showings; the raffle, we have a raffle immediately after the dinner break. We use the raffle to generate some extra funds to bring new things to the club. Although we don't make much profit we still enjoy doing this. In fact we would always lose money if we didn't buy most of the raffle items at heavy discount. Typical items in our raffles include posters, wall scrolls, soundtracks, DVDs, action figures, clear cells, animation cells, t-shirts, and other fun anime toys and merchandise. So bring some cash, raffle tickets are 1$ each, and odds are very good.

At every 12 hour this semester we will be watching some studio Ghibli movie. This months movie is the old classic Mononoke Hime. A must see for any anime fan. Followed by FLCL, a six episode short ova that is full of high powered fun and humor. Also, it is a favorite of many of our members.

In the evening we have Wonderful Days. This is a movie originating from Korea. Its CG is very impressive and definitely worth a watch. The movie is subtitled in English. See link for more info if you are curious. http://wonderfuldays.co.kr/english/

Next up on the screen is Read or Die, a three episode OVA that was produced with the highest budget per episode ever. And it shows! Awesome anime with a semi-James Bond theme except the main character is a girl named Yomiko Readman, a.k.a. "The Paper". Immediately after is the start of the TV series called Read or Dream, essentially a sequel to Read or Die, they just decided to change the name.

As always we will play Anime Music Videos to take up dead time in-between when we are ahead of schedule. We have over a thousand AMVs to choose from so the fun will never end.

9.10.03 Regular meets beginning 9-13-03
We had a strong showing Wednesday, so Saturday we will start our scheduled showings(if there are no objections). Tell everyone you know, Saturday is a no miss day as we are kicking off 4 series. Juuni Kokki, Gunparade March, Wolfs Rain, and Kiddy Grade.

9.10.03 We have our Room
We have now received our room assignment, Todd 120. This means that we will be having the meeting there tonight. So tonight will be the first semiofficial meeting. We will not be watching any of the planned schedule just yet, we will start that ths Saturday at the earliest. So come if you want we will watch something based on popular vote tonight. So remember; Todd 120 7pm-10pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays

9.07.03 Showings
Stephen Lincoln e-mailed me finally! He did get accepted into grad school but he will be gone for a simester as he amasses the hundreds of millions of dollars it takes to go to grad school here. In other news I should be able to sign up for a room tomorrow. So cross your fingers and hope that they give us a good room in Todd again with Todd Aud for 12 hour showings. We may also try to have a showing in Gannon/Golds again if everyone thought that it was a good break from Todd. In other news we have held informal meets in my room for the past two Wednesdays and Saturdays We watched Full Metal Panic 1-5, FMP Season 2 1-2, Neko no Ongaishi, and Millenium Actress. For those of you who missed the movies,(which were both good) dont worry, we will be watching them all at 12 hour showings within the next simester. So be watching soon as I will surely post the results of our room request as soon as they become avaliable. We will likely start our normal meetings within the week.

9.09.03 Our Room
We sent in our request monday for a room, we still haven't recieved our reply yet, so for now its safe to assume that we are having another informal/unofficial meeting in my room(Gannon 336) What we watch will depend on who shows up. If we do get our room assignment tomorrow morning then I will post new information here. Plan on having the first official meeting this Saturday. Our meeting room selection will be in Todd again, likely a similar room but maybe on the 1st floor this time.

9.02.03 Showings
If everyone wants to we can have another un-official club meet Wednesday and this Saturday. We had two new members show up this last Saturday, one left right before we started actually watching anime but Ryan stuck around to watch Full Metal Panic 1-5, needless to say, he is hooked. BTW we will have FMP season 2 for next simester hopefully. If not we will atleast watch the first few episodes at a 12 hour.

8.28.03 Showings
There will be an early showing in Steve's Room, Gannon 336, this Saturday at 7pm. We will be watching random new anime partially to decide what to watch in the future. If there are too many people to fit in his room it will move to the gameroom.
Part of the list of shows for this semester is up, order of shows will be determined by vote at the first official showing. We can't even apply for a room until Sept. 8, so showings will hopefully begin shortly after.

8.24.03 Anime club pulling things together
We are still trying to meet up with our faculty advisor so we can start working toward getting a room lined up for us this year, we will try for Todd first, then Cue. If someone wants to go on a room tour with our officers tonight to find good rooms stop by to see El Presidente. Also if you are new and would like meet some anime club members before official meetings stop by Gannon 336 and meet the club President. Feel free to ask for stuff to watch. There is a lot of material that we watched last year that we won't be watching again in club. So if you were not here last year and want to catch some good anime before club meets officially start, that is the source. Also because our president gets bogged down please be persistent, he may seem like he is brushing you off but he really doesn't mean to. Just keep any requests reasonably small.

If you have been a club member make a post on the forum with where your new digs are so we know you are here and alive. If you are an officer or have any club materials check in as soon as possible. Give Steven a call at 333-3603.

8.18.03 Page Update
First, there is an officers meeting tomorrow in Steve's room, 336 Gannon, at 9am.

Now on to other things, the officers page has been updated, and the new pictures should give you some idea of what we'll be showing this semester. Also there are tentative plans for early showings, before we get our room assignment.

6.21.03 The Summer to do list. And a few updates.
Its summer so not many people are reading the page. However, I still have news to pass about before classes start again so we may as well get started early. David will be taking over the webpage as soon as I can get him the info. I may enlist a friend who is a PHP expert to help add some automation to the page however.

You would think our anime clubs on the West coast would be more populated than the ones on the East coast but it seems many large universities on the east coast out-populate us several times over. Several that I saw even have 150 people for weekly meets.

I think we can get a few more members this next year than usual if we advertise early and get all those new students that don't yet know what they will do with their free time. To accomplish this we should round up someone to make an advertisement during summer. So the week before classes start we can have ads up all over.

Another thing that I think I neglected some after Morgan left was that he did an excellent job of greeting new visitors and whatnot. So remind me and Steve to greet new otaku to the club. We can hold onto the new members this next year by getting them involved. I think we should also do more that just watch anime. But I will get into that when we start our meetings this next year. Also I plan to have a few meets to start everything off BEFORE WE HAVE OUR ROOM ASSIGNED TO US. We can use the Gannon basement TV or projector or maybe another dorms setup.

On another side note I NEED CONTACT INFORMATION FOR MORGAN POTTER!!! So if you know how to reach him post on the forums and let me know, I got WAY too busy the last few weeks on campus and when I went over to see him he had already left for home. That made me feel really bad because we had planned to meet before he left. I owe him some anime too so a mailing address is needed too so I can mail him some dvds of new stuff.

So as it stands here is the list:
-membership cards
-member directory
-new semester advertisements
-purchase Trigun(it was expensive so I haven't picked it up yet)
-Arrange a picture gallery for the website
-Arrange early semester meetings
-figure out paperwork needed for next semester

5.30.03 Summer update
I have been buying stuff for the WSU anime club lately. I have almost used all the cash on hand the club had. But we have quite a few dvds for everyone come this fall. The new Kenshin OVA Directors cut has very little new footage but its all on one DVD finally. Costed $25, definately worth it if you ask me. We have the Nadesico box set, all the miyazaki films that we had on our want list, and there is more to come. Now on to what we are going to do this summer. If any of you want to put togeather an anime night of any sort we can bring the big box now improved to 440GB, (soon to be 660GB). We can also get Wayne and his projector, sound system, and dvds. So keep in touch.

The Dojo has been quiet lately but that is partially our fault for being down for 3 months. Also we need to re-theme the site.

The WSU anime club's webpage will also be moving hopefully to a fully functional webserver so we can host our own forums, picture galleries, and whaterver we want. The club will however have to fork out a small ammount of money each simester for this. But I think it once everyone sees it and gets used to it, they will love it.

Also take a look here now and then I keep posting new pictures all the time, of LANdojo stuff, Cons, and stuff we did. Also note that landojo is the reference for the level of functionality the WSU anime club will have if/when we move it over.landojo

10.20.02 Page Updates/Forum Updates
I found the lost avatars! I also found images to place on the website representing the series were showing at anime club. I just hope its the right ones, Mo usually keeps me up to date, but I haven't talk to him for like ever! Are you alive Morgan? CALL ME! :)

10.12.02 Forums Down/Up/Broken/Down/Up
I want to strangle the permission who is in charge of this linux server! Argh! They friggin' tie off every single portion of usable functionality for a website done in php, and I keep having to find some kind of work around. Thank god I'm a Computer Science major, cause that means I like dealing with this... *cough* Anyways, I also found out the version of the forums I put up was a hacked version, really cruddy, as you could tell, so hopefully this version will be a little better that's going up now. Bare with me.

10.09.02 Forums Up
Forums are online again, please let me know what you think I need to add to it. It's a work in progress :)

09.20.02 An Update!
Let's see now, club showings are now at Todd 230. And the showings guide has been updated as well! Also, stay tuned cause an updated tape library is on its way as well as different pics for the main page. Also, due to wsu's server issues, I've taken down the forums. But not to worry, I'll get a new one up soon.

08.03.02 ...hehe... still hiding.
Ok, I've been hiding now for what... 6 months from this website? Can we stop playing hide and seek now? PLLLLEEEEEEEEZZEEEE. Yeah, this site is outta date, it needs to be updated, and... My the colors are dark, or is just me? I'm taking a poll now... New site design? A little brighter for the upcoming year? Send your ideas to: coolmon@coolmon.com, especially since I haven't been on the forums much lately. Also, I'm planning a way so that we can have designated people update sections of this site, because a decent anime site is a lot of work to keep up by ones self. And yes, I have time next year to go to showings. Whoopee!

2.14.02 Valentine's Day Updates
You know what? We aren't showing Noir anymore, better update these main page pics, i also decided to put up a new release dates side with basic things i reccomend everyone should see/get. And now i'm begging... Anyone... Please... If you can, please, keep me informed of releases you are waiting on, if you don't tell me... I may be forced to put harry potter up there ^_^.
