9. Brahman is the Infinite Spirit. Krishna is the first cause in the sense that he is the consciousness (purusha) that caused the universe in the first place. While the material and conscious world evolves through a series of identifiable causes, the single cause which began this process is Krishna or the Infinite Spirit.
