9. "Sankhya-yoga": following the path of Sankhya, or philosophy. The Sankhya teaches that the spirit is separate from nature but that the source of all pain and pleasure is the spirit's delusion that it is actually connected to or a part of nature. "Karma-yoga": the discipline of action. This is the foundational argument of the Gita: karma-yoga is the practice of dedicating action to the Supreme.
