Teaches rhetoric and composition studies. Winner of two national awards on research and scholarship for his Boostraps: From an American Academic of Color and the editor of Cross-Talk in Comp Theory: A Reader, he is a former head of the national organization for Writing and Rhetoric: the Conference on College Composition and Communication. His concern is always with the political as embodied in rhetoric and literacy.
