Early Leadership Identification Program (ELI)
A program for new students designed to assist them in identifying the numerous
opportunities for involvement available to them.
LEAP
A weekend retreat in August for hall government officers to prepare them
for working with house and hall governments.
Emerging Leaders Program
An opportunity to learn more about your personal style, how you can get
involved on campus, the skills necessary to be an effective group member
and future employable graduate! Participants commit to attending a series
of programs on leadership topics, resulting in the awarding of a certificate
of completion. Participants also receive the Leaders Digest.
The Alumni-Student Leadership Colloquium
A day long conference that offers students an opportunity to work with
alumni and explore leadership issues students are faced with today in an
effort to better prepare them for similar issues after graduation. Open
to all students, it features alumni who distinguished themselves as leaders
while students and continue to do so in their chosen professions and communities.
Participants work in groups of ten to fifteen students, matched with an
alumnus or alumna in a potential career field or intended major. The alumni
draw from their experiences and facilitate exercises to assist in this
unique opportunity to further develop your leadership understanding. For

Student Organization Night
A program to orient student organizations to all the services available
to them in the CUB. Included in the program will be how to schedule space,
using Campus Graphics, working with budgets and the Accounting Office.
A great orientation for student group officers.
Residential Leadership Recognition Banquet
Held during Mom's Weekend, this banquet recognizes outstanding efforts
of residential students to build community in the residence halls and Greek
chapters.
The President's Award
An annual event capping off the year by recognizing the outstanding achievements
of students who have demonstrated their commitment to improving WSU through
their leadership and service. An awards committee evaluates nominees based
upon the characteristics of leadership, responsibility, values and self-awareness.
The event is hosted by President Sam Smith and is attended by distinguished
