EUDORA HINTS

TO OPEN EUDORA:
1. Log onto Volume A or B on the HRC File Server, Zone 106.
2. Open your folder.
3. Open the folder Eudora by Qualcomm .
4. To start Eudora, double-click on Eudora Settings.

TO CHECK FOR NEW MAIL:
If desired, the computer will automatically check your mailbox every ? minutes (you specify how often). However, if you want to check before then, go to Check Mail under the File menu. This will tell you if you have any new messages.

TO SEND A NEW MESSAGE:
1. From Message menu select New Message. (If this is your first time using Eudora, send a message to yourself to familiarize yourself with the program.)
2. Enter the address in the To field.
Note: you can either use the tab key or the mouse to move from field to field in Eudora.
3. Start typing the message under the dotted line.
4. When ready to send, click the Send button in the upper right hand corner with the mouse.

TO SEND AN ATTACHMENT:
1. Select Attach Document from Message menu.
2. Open your folder from Volume A, B, or disk, select desired file to attach, and click Open; the name of the file will appear in your message.
3. When you click Send, the attached file (formatting retained) will be sent with your message.

TO SAVE OUTGOING MESSAGE:
Select Save from File menu to save a copy of the message in the Out mailbox; do this if you need to suspend the message and finish/send it later. Or, check the box Keep Copies at Switches under the Special menu.

TO REPLY TO AN INCOMING MESSAGE:
1. Select In from Mailbox menu.
2. Click once on letter so it is highlighted.
3. Choose Reply from Message menu.
You may edit text of original letter as desired and you may also type in a new message.

DELETING A MESSAGE:
1. Open your message.
2. Select Delete from Message menu.
3. Open Out mailbox and select (not open) the message summary of the message.
4. Again select Delete from Message menu.
5. Select Empty Trash from Special menu.
Note: When you delete a message, it is stored in the trash mailbox until you empty the trash.

IF YOU NEED HELP:
Eudora has On-Line help features if you need help with anything. Just go to the Balloon menu in upper right-hand corner of the screen. You may turn on balloons, which will give a brief explanation of what you point to, or select the desired topic. If you need further assitance, you may ask either Rhonda Blair or the HRC RA, Janelle Loe.
