In 1998 the USDA/ARS, together with Washington State University,
Oregon State University and the University of Idaho released a
soft white club winter wheat variety named 'Coda' (PI594372). Coda
was developed by R.E. Allan in cooperation with the Federal/State
research programs at Pullman. Coda is being released to provide
Pacific Northwest growers the option of producing a SWW club variety that
has resistance to strawbreaker foot rot, high yield potential, and
satisfactory milling and baking quality. Coda is adapted to areas of
northwestern USA where semidwarf club wheat varieties can be grown.
Dryland Cropping Systems, a divsion of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics (CAHE), gives disease and yield information on many spring and winter wheats.
