Standards of Conduct for Students

Emergency Rules

Effective February 7, 2024, the University made emergency rule changes to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 504-26: Standards of Conduct for Students.

Purpose: The emergency rule changes allow a conduct hearing board of one and is based on the preservation of health, safety, and general welfare exception plus the federal law exception (Title IX). Essentially, WSU is currently unable to process student conduct cases in a timely manner, even those involving serious allegations of misconduct, due to its inability to convene conduct boards, and this change is needed to address that.

Proposed Permanent Rules

Washington State University conducted a public hearing on proposed revision to WAC chapter 504-26—Standards of Conduct for Students on March 19, 2024. The comment period has ended.

The University will adopt the revised rules based on the statutory authority found in RCW 28B.30.150.

Washington State University conducted a public hearing on proposed revision to WAC chapter 504-04—Practice and Procedure on March 13, 2024. The comment period has ended.

The University will adopt the revised rules based on the statutory authority found in RCW 28B.30.150.
