The International Howells The William Dean Howells Society invites paper proposals addressing “The International Howells” for the 2008 ALA Convention in San Francisco (22-25 May, 2008). Paper topics are invited on any aspect of Howells’s work that touches on the international: fiction; criticism and reviews; travel writing, etc. 2. The Domestic Howells The William Dean Howells Society invites paper proposals addressing “The Domestic Howells” for the 2008 ALA Convention in San Francisco (22-25 May, 2008). Paper topics are invited on any aspect of Howells’s work touching on the “domestic”: fiction set in the U.S.; fiction examining domestic life; criticism and reviews; autobiography; reportage and non-fiction, etc. For either panel, please send a 500-word abstract and a brief c.v.
